Oscar M. Mosley, Jr., of Felton, Delaware was born on March 3, 1945 to the late Oscar M. Mosley, Sr. and Janet Street Parks. He peacefully entered eternal rest and went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2026.
Affectionately known to family and friends as “Snooky,” Oscar began his education at Union (Colored) Elementary School, a two room school located in Frederica, Delaware, where he attended grades one through six. He continued his education at Booker T. Washington School for grades seven and eight and graduated from William W. M. Henry Comprehensive High School in 1963.
Following high school, Oscar honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1969. After completing his military service, he attended Delaware State College, now Delaware State University, where he earned a degree in Business in 1973.
Oscar was first married to Dorothy Hunt. In May 1987, he married Linda C. Thompson, and together they shared 38 loving years of marriage until his passing. Guided by a deep commitment to family and service, Oscar and Linda fostered many children through the Delaware Division of Family Services, opening their home and hearts to those in need.
Oscar dedicated many years to a strong work ethic and diverse professional career. He was employed as a correctional officer and worked with Motorola, Budget Blinds, and Nanticoke Homes. He was also a skilled entrepreneur and the proud owner of Mosley Custom Cabinets.
A devoted man of faith, Oscar was a cherished member of Faith Hope and Love Church, where he was one of the founding members and played a role in helping to build the church. He faithfully taught classes and found great joy in worship, especially listening to gospel music played by the church musicians.
Oscar had a deep love for life and many passions. He enjoyed boating, crabbing, and fishing with family and friends, working on cars particularly Corvettes, gardening, and listening to Motown music, with special fondness for The Temptations and Gladys Knight.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar M. Mosley, Sr. and Janet Street Parks; his sister, Debbie Williams; and his brother, William “Billy” Parks.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Linda C. Mosley; his children: Lisa Guidry (Dustin) and Michael Mosley (Caroline), both of California, Trever Bohenko (Tabitha) and Adrianna Mosley of Milford, Delaware, Robert Mosley of North Carolina, Christopher Mosley of Dover, Delaware, and Jazmine Mosley and Amanda Mosley of Felton, Delaware. He was also a devoted father figure to many children whose lives he lovingly touched. He is further survived by eight grandchildren; his brother Thomas P. Mosley; his aunt Deloris Winston (Robert); and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
