Mr. Babu Rao Gummadi

     It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mr. Babu Gummadi on November 19, 2025 at the age of 76.

     Babu was born on January 2, 1949 in Kolavennu, Andhra Pradesh, India. In 1978, he courageously journeyed to the United States in search of new opportunities, eventually making Dover, Delaware his beloved home. He worked diligently as a machinist at Dixon Valve, where his hard work and dedication earned the respect of all who knew him. After a long and fulfilling career, Babu retired in 2014.

     In retirement, he found immense joy in pursuing his lifelong passion for farming and gardening. Whether tending to his home garden or watching farming videos to learn new techniques, Babu’s love for the land reflected his patience, curiosity, and commitment to growth in every sense of the word.

     Babu was a man of kindness, humility, and deep love for his family. His greatest happiness came from spending time with his loved ones—offering guidance, laughter, and warmth to all around him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering love, and devotion to both his immediate and extended family.

     He is survived by his loving wife, Satyavati Gummadi; daughter Saroja Gummadi, and son-in-law Charles Omans Jr.; cherished grandson Jaxon Omans; and adoring son, Bhasker (“Bobby”) Gummadi.

     He is also lovingly remembered by his older sister, Janaki Kaza, and her husband Babu Kaza, along with their sons Srinivas Kaza and Sridhar Babu Kaza; his younger sister, Ammaji Veluvolu, and her husband Syam Babu Veluvolu, and their daughter Samata Veluvolu and her fiancé Todd Drago; and his youngest sister Vasanthi Nalluri and her husband Krishna Nalluri, and their son Sreeram Nalluri.

     Babu’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. His love, generosity, and laughter will never be forgotten.

     Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Pippin Funeral Home, located at 119 W Camden Wyoming Ave, Wyoming, DE 19934.

·       Public ceremony: 9:30 – 11:30 AM
A lunch gathering will follow at Super 8 Hotel Hall, 348 N Dupont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901.
