We are beyond devastated to share the passing of our beloved Michelle Ann Atwood, 58, of Millsboro, DE, on July 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loved ones.
Michelle was the heart of her family, the glue that held them together, and will be deeply missed by her husband, Parker Atwood; daughters: Jamie Willey, Sara Hearn, Rebecca, and Lindsey Atwood; sons: David and Derrick Atwood; grandchildren: Isaiah, Madison, Alyssa, and Chloe Willey; Zoey, Nathan, and Riley Dawson; Madelyn Webster; and her first great-granddaughter, who will be arriving this fall. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Elizabeth Carey and Wendell Davis; grandparents, Michael and Mildred Carey; and brother, Steven Pruitt.
Michelle lived a life full of love, laughter, and resilience. Her greatest joy and proudest role was being a devoted wife to Parker for nearly 30 years, and a loving mother and grandmother(Mas). She was the one her children could always turn to, no matter the situation; for advice, honesty, and full support.
In her spare time, Michelle found joy in the simple things. She loved crocheting, working on crossword puzzles, and doing a little online shopping. She could often be found browsing her favorite thrift stores or taking a ride to wander the aisles at Byler’s. And of course, she never passed up a good McDonald’s frappe or a DQ Orange Julius, those little treats brought her so much happiness.
Michelle was unapologetically herself; loud, proud, and never afraid to speak her mind. And her laugh was unforgettable; one in a million. Michelle’s love will truly be felt and live on in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026 (Michelle’s birthday), 1:00pm, at the Galestown Community Hall, located at 5540 Old School House Rd, Rhodesdale, MD 21659
