Michael Patrick O’Donald, 68, of Newark passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 after a long illness. He was born in Salem Hospital, Salem, NJ on July 12, 1955. He was a 1973 graduate of John Dickinson High School. He retired from Chrysler Corporation.
As a young man, Mike was a daredevil and an avid diver. He would find the biggest bridge to dive off of. He made the front page of the News Journal when a photographer saw him swinging from a Tarzan rope in Brandywine Springs. Mike was a boxer and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. In his later years, he liked his nature walks and hiking.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bernard (Goose) O’Donald and a brother, Charles (Rick) O’Donald. He is survived by his son, Michael O’Donald; his grandson, Michael O’Donald; and his great grandson, Michael O’Donald all of Rising Sun, MD; his mother, Betty Nixon of North Carolina; a brother John of Virginia Beach and his sister, Kelly O’Donald of Lewes, DE.
There will be no services The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses of the second floor of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center for their kindness and respect.
