Maureen Sealund, 71, of Dover passed away on May 18, 2021 at home.
Mrs. Sealund worked in civil service at the Dover Air Force Base for about 20 years. She often attended Catholic mass at DAFB, then started to attend at the Church of the Holy Cross. Maureen enjoyed crocheting, camping and travel and loved her dogs. She did volunteer work for the Special Olympics at the University of Delaware. What was most important to Maureen was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Sealund is survived by her husband of 50 years Terry Sealund; her three children: Scott, Sean, and Steven, all of Camden; her mother, Gertrude O’Rourke of Massachusetts; five brothers: Bobby O’Rourke, Ricky O’Rourke, Kevin O’Rourke, Paul O’Rourke and Jackie O’Rourke, all of Massachusetts; and seven grandchildren. Maureen was preceded in death by her father, Joseph O’Rourke and by her brother Brian O’Rourke.
A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 28, 2021 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday. An attempt will be made to livestream. Burial will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Special Olympics Delaware, University of Delaware, 619 S. College Avenue, Newark, DE 19716-1901.
