It is with tremendous sadness to announce the passing of Mary Kay Ortiz. On February 2, 2026, Mary passed away in the home she shared with her husband for forty years in Magnolia, Delaware.
Mary was born in Ohio and was adopted by a loving couple and was raised with many adopted siblings. Mary worked for over twenty years as a file clerk for the Bayhealth administration. After her retirement, Mary spent her days doing the arts and crafts that she loved.
Mary is survived by her husband, Juan B. Ortiz; her daughter and son in law, Juana Ortiz and Gustavo Guzman, along with their children that she helped raise, Antonio Ortiz, Stavo Guzman, Tyler Guzman and Alexander Guzman. She is also survived by two stepchildren and many more grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service for the beloved wife, mother and grandmother will be held at Pippin Funeral Home in Wyoming, Delaware on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 5:00pm. In respect to her, the family is asking for visitors to something with her favorite color yellow.
