Mary Jane Tabbia Obituary

It is with a broken heart we announce the sudden passing of Mary Jane Tabbia. She left peacefully surrounded by her family: Larry Tabbia (husband), Heather Tabbia (daughter), & Sarah Tabbia (daughter) the morning of July 28, 2025 at the age of 70.

Anyone who knew Mary Jane knew how much she loved her family; she was their biggest cheerleader. Mary didn’t only support her family, but she opened her arms for many people with her gentle, funny, kid-at-heart personality.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ Mary Jane was a Jersey Girl through & through. After college she started her career as an educator in Elizabeth, then went on to Rainbow World Daycare, & assisted Sunday School at Hope Lutheran Church. She was also an active 20+ year member of the Jackson Woman of Today. Mary Jane had taken on her favorite role as a homemaker for her children & husband for many years, which allowed her to never miss a beat.

Mary had a passion for the performing arts which she had the chance to pass onto her daughters with color-guard for Heather & dance for Sarah. Second to dance, Mary Jane loved the beach & the boardwalk, especially trips to Seaside Heights for a midway stop. She also had a niche for crafts & a good book. Whether it was going to a craft show, making crafts, or cracking open a good book more than anything she loved sharing her joys with everyone around her.

It never mattered where she lived: New Jersey, Florida, Virginia, or Delaware, Mary Jane made sure her grandchildren always felt her love & support. Other than wife & mom, she was the best nanny to her two grandchildren Bella & Kieran. You could always catch her rink side for Bella or gym side for Kieran cheering them on.

All the love Mary Jane had to give to everyone sprouted from the amazing relationship between her & her Larry. Forty six years together was a true blessing for them both, as well as an inspiration for many.

Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband Larry Tabbia:  daughters Heather Tabbia and Sarah Tabbia; her grandchildren Bella Worsham and Kieran Tabbia: her sister Tish Simon: brother-in-law Jerry Tabbia: sister-in-law Patricia Tabbia: and her cousins: Brad Badal, Jack Yates, and John Brennan.
