Mary Shivick Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Williams Shivick, who left peacefully on June 30, 2025, at the age of 75.

Mary was born on April 23, 1950, in Wilmington, Delaware. She graduated from William Penn High School in 1969. A devoted homemaker in her early years, Mary later entered the workforce in the late 1980s as a receiving clerk at several grocery stores. After retiring, she found joy in helping care for her grandchildren.

Mary cherished life’s simple pleasures—listening to music, tending to her plants, watching the birds, and spending time with her family and friends.

She leaves behind her daughters: Michelle McElwee, Kristen Creamer (Victor), and Mary Bernadette Shivick; and her cherished grandsons: Zachary Shivick, Dalton Shivick, and Alexander Likens.

Mary is also survived by her siblings: Robert Williams (Linda), James Williams (Florence), Lawrence Williams (Faye), Leonard Williams (Leslie), and Ann Marie Williams, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert F. Williams and Ann B. McCaffery; her brother, Joseph Williams Sr.; and her sister, Georgina Delaney.

A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held on Sunday, August 10th at 12 noon.  The gathering will take place at:  The Delaware Center for Horticulture, 1810 N. DuPont Street, Wilmington, DE 19806. Please come as you are, as part of the service will be outside, weather permitting.
