Marion Gardley Obituary

Marion Doretha Gardley 63 went to be with the Lord peacefully on May 3, 2021 surrounded by her family at home. Marion was born May 27, 1957 to the late Virginia C. Stevens and Herman Stevens.

Marion received her education in the Smyrna School District and Delaware Technical and Community College. Marion was employed by the State of Delaware at the Smyrna Hospital for the Chronically Ill. Marion retired after 40 years of service and remained employed at the same job as a casual seasonal worker. Marion was united in holy matrimony to Troy Jerome Gardley on July 5, 1997. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and remained a faithful member of Mount Olive Pentecostal Church in Smyrna, Delaware under the pastorship of Bishop Josephine Jones - Elder Constance Beach and Bishop Grace Batten. A few of her past times were shopping, reading and spending time with her family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she always had the prettiest tree. She always made cookies and donuts then gave them out to the family who visited.

She was preceded in death by her parents Virginia C. Stevens and Herman Stevens, paternal grandparents Avender and Virginia Jones, a favorite uncle John Sudler, her brothers Herman Stevens, Bradford Stevens, Jeffrey Stevens, her sister Venice Tribbett, and a nephew Don Tribbett Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory- her husband Troy and her special niece Tiana, three brothers Timothy Stevens of Houston, Delaware, Gregory Stevens of Smyrna and Kelvin Stevens of Boston, Massachusetts, two sisters- Adalyn Donald (William) of Dover and Dorothy Guy of Cheswold, Delaware, a devoted friend Angela Turner and Lakeyah whom she loved dearly. Her mother-in-law Faye Gardley of Smyrna, two sister-in-laws- Janet Benson and Daymona Wright, three brother in laws- Wayne Wright, John Gardley, William Donald and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, including her coworkers at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill.
