Lorraine C Griffin

Lorraine Griffin born to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Harman was born on June 12, 1934, in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, passed this life on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at the Kent General Hospital.

Lorraine was one of three children, completing her early education in the Philadelphia school system.

She met and married the Reverend Samuel Griffin of Philadelphia in 1954, three children were born of this union, Sandra, Michael, and Valarie, all preceding her in death.

Before moving to Delaware, Lorraine attended Philippian Baptist in Philadelphia and First Baptist in Darby, Pennsylvania. 

Relocating to Delaware, Lorraine became a member of the New Jerusalem Baptist Church, in Dover, Delaware, where the Rev. C.V. Holmes is pastor.

At the Jerusalem Church, she faithfully served on the mother’s board until her sudden death.

She leaves to mourn their loss, her loving husband, the Reverend Samuel Griffin, two grandchildren, Christopher, and Samuel, one brother, Clarence Harman and a host of other relatives, church family and friends. Preceding her in death, one Grandchild, Anwan.

Funeral Service Thursday, January 19, 2023, 11 am at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Dover, where friends may view beginning at 10 am.  Interment private at a later date at Delaware Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Bear, DE.
