Lois Jarman Obituary

On Thursday, May 4, 2023, Lois “Momma” Jarman was reunited with her husband, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 19, 1940 in Thomasville, AL to the late Wilder Willis, Sr and Pauline Willis Walker.

In the early years of her marriage, Lois worked as a Custodian at a local school. After being a Homemaker for many years, she also worked at a Day Care Center, with her husband doing Radio Communications and then DHCI before retiring.

Lois, or “Momma” as she was known by many, enjoyed Word Search Puzzles and Reading. She also enjoyed Soaps until they “got stupid”. She always wanted to help her children in any way possible. There was never a person who didn’t fall in love with her after meeting her. Momma has taken many under her wing and treated them as if they were her own. Momma was not into technology, like texts or emails, so other than phone calls, she wrote old fashion letters. She also loved to send Christmas and Birthday cards, to make sure you knew she was thinking of you.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William, Sr, sisters Annie Fields and Jeannie Selheimer, Brother ‘Buddy” Walker, son-in-law Nicky Bishop and best friend Ella.

Lois is survived by her children William Jr (Karen) of Ramseur, NC, Bonnie “Sissy” Bishop of Princess Anne, MD and Donna ”Sissy” Thompson (Bill) of Camden, DE; a sister JoAnn Reedy of Marydel, MD; a brother James Walker of Wilmington, DE, 12 grandchildren, with one whom she  was more like a mother to, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter and countless friends.

A Celebration of Remembrance will be held Saturday, May 13th at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE. Viewing will be 9a-11a, Service to follow 11 am at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Mt Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.

In honor of our Momma, we are requesting everyone wear blue, which is her favorite color.
