Leon Cecil Prescott, of Dover, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 1, 2021, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, surrounded by his loving family. He was 93.
Leon was born April 7, 1928, in Phillips, Maine to the late, Charles & Iona(Heath) Prescott. He worked for many years for Papen Farms, and in his free time enjoyed bowling, woodworking, gardening, exploring family history, and spending time with his family. Leon received the Jefferson Award for his volunteer service provided to the Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, in Smyrna, and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Dover.
Leon was the youngest of 9 sons: George, Theodore, Alfred, John, Colby, Mason, Ervin & Melvin.
Leon is survived by his wife of 71 years, Sara ( Jones ) Prescott; 3 children, Richard Prescott & wife, Ann, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Lynda Wheeler & husband, Tom, of Dover; and Lisa Bishoff & husband, Mike, of Lewes; Grandchildren, Christopher Prescott & wife, Jennifer; Matthew Prescott & wife, Cay; Stacy Meisinger & husband, Ryan; Emily Sherman & husband, Joe; Janel Prescott, Thomas Wheeler, and Tyler Bishoff; great-grandchildren, Madison, Avery, & Sofia Prescott; Damien Wheeler, Logan ,Carson, and Layne Meisinger, and Grant, Carter, & Aubrey Sherman.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00pm, Friday, July 9, 2021, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE; where family and friends may view 1 hour before. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or to Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, 2591 Whitehall Road, Smyrna, DE 19977.
