Lela Jane Beachy

Lela J Beachy (86), of Lincoln, Delaware, born May 24, 1936 in Springs, Pennsylvania, graduated to her heavenly home on Friday, September 16, 2022. 

Lela was a homemaker, bookkeeper for her husband's earthmoving business, enthusiastic grandma and great-grandma, and a volunteer for Read-Aloud Delaware and the Greenwood Cheer Center.  She was a member of Laws Mennonite Church.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joel D. and Annie M. (Hershberger) Beachy, three brothers: Claude, Alvie, and Ivan Beachy, and a sister, Margaret (Beachy) Hershberger.  She will be dearly missed by her husband Allen, of Lincoln, DE; her brother and sister-in-law Stan and Joyce Beachy, her sister-in-law Kaye Beachy, her brother-in-law Virgil Hershberger and his wife Ruth; three daughters and sons-in-law: Sue and Art Kauffman (Harrington, DE), Priscilla and Melvin Sayer (Milford, DE), and Donna and PJ Kurylak (Newark, DE); eleven grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and her dear friend and caregiver Ruth Ann Hayes (Greenwood, DE).  

A memorial service will be held at Greenwood Mennonite Church on Wednesday, September 21 at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will precede the service, at 10:30 a.m. in the church cemetery.  The family will receive visitors on Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Greenwood Mennonite Church.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators or Doctors Without Borders, two charities Lela wholeheartedly supported.
