Kristen Rae (Francis) Barnes

We are heart-broken to say that our beloved Kristen Rae (Francis) Barnes passed away on July 29th, 2025. She died peacefully in her home in Dover, DE. 

Everyone who knew Kristen well, knows that she loved those close to her deeply. She possessed the sharpest wit and sense of humor. There were few people from whom she could not draw a hearty laugh or big smiles. 

Kristen loved bringing friends and family together for a party, big or small, just to make people in her life feel welcome and appreciated. Kristen lived truly connected to nature and loved feeding birds and, like her paternal grandmother, loved feeding ducks. Her dog, Tater, was Kristen's companion and friend for 16 years.

With all of her heart, Kristen cheered and advocated for the underdog. As a social worker and professional in the healthcare industry, she treated clients with the warmth and care, as she did family and friends.

Kristen is survived by her loving parents, mother Cynthia Moore (Robert); and Robert Francis (Darlene). 

Kristen was the oldest of her closest siblings,  her brother, Matthew Francis of Camden DE, and sister, Alexis Moore of Camden DE. Her surviving siblings include  Darrell, Jenna, Laken and Mason. 

Kristen is also survived by nieces, Madeline, Catalina and Cynthia, and nephew Eddie. 

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Adam Barnes.

Memorial service will be 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, Delaware with a gathering from 3:00-4:00 p.m.
