Kimberly Whidbee Obituary

Kimberly Joyce Whidbee was born to Yvette Whidbee-Boyd and Glen Mitchell Singleton on October 28, 1981 in Milford, DE. She departed this life on November 10, 2019.She graduated from Milford High School, Class of 2001. In high school Kim found her love of music and was involved with the step team and choir. After high school Kim’s love of community led her to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club. One Christmas, Kim volunteered to play Santa, which speaks to her love of seeing happy children. Kim had one of biggest hearts you will ever find, but her smile was even bigger. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and showing off pictures of them, especially Adriana and Kelsey. Kim loved spending time with her friends, whether it be laughing and joking at the Greene Turtle with Ray-Ray or shopping with Janelle; who were her best friends.

In 1997, Kim following her Aunt Joyce, joined Church of Deliverance in Smyrna, DE where she had been a faithful member the past 22 years. Kim dedicated her life to Christ and was Baptized. She served as Head Usher for the church and was also a member of the church choir. Kim trusted God with her whole heart and stepped out on Faith and moved to Smyrna, DE; and when times were tough, she trusted God would never leave nor forsake her. She enjoyed spending time with her Church Family, traveling to North Carolina or going to the movies and having dinner. Kim never allowed grass to grow under her feet, because she got anywhere she wanted to go without a car. She would get on the bus and travel to New York, Virginia and anywhere else her heart desired. She had no fear or boundaries, never letting anything stop her from her travels. Kim was the Family Reporter and she was better than any Delaware State News, Milford Chronicle or News Journal. Kim loved her family and she made it her business to know what was going on with everyone around her. If you asked about someone or something and she did not know, you better believe she would research and find out. She was the glue that held all the sides of the family together. Kim is preceded in death by her Grandparents Mildred Whidbee, Beatrice Finney, Vernon Finney Sr, Deacon Cleveland Whidbee Sr, Demus Whidbee and BeEtta Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory her parents Yvette Whidbee-Boyd (Bobby) of Felton, DE and Glen Singleton (Floretta) of Ellendale, DE, her grandmother Dessie Abston of Mobile, AL, 3 sisters Crystal Maull (Jerome) of Magnolia, DE, Elizabeth Boone of Milford, DE and Glenda Singleton of Ellendale, DE, 2 brothers Russell Burton of Dover, DE and Glen Mitchell Singleton Jr. of New Castle, DE, her Godmother Georgia Welch of Lincoln, DE, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
