Kevin John Lighter

Kevin John Lighter, 70, of Dover, passed away on March 8, 2026, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, Delaware.

Kevin was born May 21, 1955, in Washington D.C. to John Jacob and Zella Dee (Edwards) Lighter.  He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1974-1998, where he retired as a Master Sergeant.  He was also a senior member of the Civil Air Patrol and an adult leader for the Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sue Bischoff Lighter; daughter, Stephanie Marie Lighter; son, Douglas Harrison Lighter; sisters, Laura Lighter of Alabama, and Becki Lighter of Maryland; and brother, Jay Lighter of Florida.  

Kevin passed away due to a rare disease called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Kevin’s name to either the CUREPSP website or Delaware Hospice.
