Kayleanna Nichole “Kana” Riddle, 17, of Camden passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 16, 2021 as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Kayleanna was born in Kissimmee, FL on March 2, 2004, the daughter of Nancie Riddle and Jason Smith. She was currently a junior at Caesar Rodney High School, where she played on the soccer team. She also worked part time at the Hardee’s on Bay Road. Kana was what some would refer to as a free spirit. She loved art, music and going to the beach. She also enjoyed cooking and liked to eat tacos. Most importantly, Kayleanna loved to make the people in her life that she loved happy. Wherever she was she lit up the room.
Kayleanna is survived by her mother, Nancie Riddle-Martinez and her wife Elaina J. Martinez of Camden; her father, Jason L. Smith, Sr. and his wife Elizabeth of Illinois; her sister Phyllis F. M. Riddle of Camden; three brothers: her twin Kalib A. Riddle of Illinois, Brandon M. A. “BB” Burke of Camden, and Jason L. “Lil J” Smith, Jr. of Illinois; her maternal grandmother Donna Lawson of Dover; her maternal great grandmother Nancy Wilson of New Castle; her grandmother and grandfather Leslie Papen Turney and David C. Turney of Camden; special friends of the family Peter and Jaimi Foth and their children. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kana is also survived by G.G. her special pup. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Phillip Riddle, by her brother Gavin Smith and by her paternal grandparents Doreen Smith and Roger McCormick.
A Celebration of Life for Kayleanna will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Road, Wyoming, DE 19934 where friends may visit with the family from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday.
