Joyce A. (Black) Thompson
Joyce Ann (Black) Thompson, 83, of Dover, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 16, 2022.
Joyce was born in Milford, on March 20,1939, during a blizzard. As a young woman, she worked for Kent General Hospital, Caesar Rodney Nutrition, and Dawson Bus for 30 years, after retiring she worked for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking for her family – she was most famous for her Chicken & Dumplings.
She was proceeded in death by her Parents- Earl & Hazel Black of Houston, Daughter- Lisa A. Thompson, Brother- Clarence (Jack) Black, Grandson- Stephen J. Crew Jr, Great Granddaughter- Stella Jayne Crew.
Joyce is survived by:
4 Children: Laureen Huffine, Denise (Drew) Boyce, Patricia Alexander, and Matthew (Amy Lipsky) Thompson.
12 Grand Children: Crystal (Mike), Shannon, Dustin (Jill), Aaron (Tia), Michael (Caila), Ashley, Stephen, James (Brianna), Taylor (Carman), Ashlyn, Scarlett and Ruby Hazel
15 Great Grand Children: Mikey, Kaley, AlexaRae, DeShaun, Ka’lief, Luna, Goldie, Woodrow, Anneli, Zoeie, Haylo, Stella, Paisley, Haleigh, Silvia, Braxton
2 Great Great Grand Children: Eva, Tavi
2 Brothers: Earl Dolphus Black & Kenneth Black
Service/ viewing where family & friends may gather Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 @ Pippins Funeral Home from 2-4 pm. Burial will be private @ the Hollywood Cemetery in Harrington beside her parents @ a later date.
