Joseph Michael Silecchia

It is with deep sadness that we note the passing of our beloved husband and father, Joseph M. Silecchia on October 23, 2024.  

Joe was born on April 22, 1940, in Hoboken, NJ.  His interest with electricity led him to an after school job with Fontana Bros. Electricians, where he learned his trade.  He worked at the Military Ocean Terminal in Bayonne, NJ as an electrician and later as a Planning Estimator.  He earned his NJ State Electrical license and started his own business.  He also held a Master Plumber’s license and Fireman’s Boiler license.  He was the Maintenance Supervisor at Colgate Palmolive Co. in Tenafly, NJ until his retirement, when he moved to Delaware.  

Joe was a loving husband to the love of his life, Sandra (DelGaudio) and father to son, Joseph, Jr.  He loved to fish, enjoyed his vegetable garden and working on his truck.

Joe was predeceased by his parents, Marie (Incognito) and Francisco Silecchia; brother, Michael Silecchia and sister-in-law, Rose; sister, Mary Palazzo and brother-in-law, Charles Young.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra and son, Joseph, sister, Vincenza Young and many nieces and nephews.  

In accordance with his wishes, there was no viewing or service.  A celebration of life will take place at a future date.
