Joseph Ray Bowles, Jr.

Joseph Ray Bowles, Jr, 75, of Lincoln, Delaware, passed peacefully on April 20, 2026 surrounded by his family. 

Born on November 24, 1950, in Leonardtown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Joseph Ray Bowles, Sr. and Emma Charlotte Lumpkins Bowles.

Joe spent much of his life working as a tractor-trailer driver, logging countless miles across the country. He took pride in his work and the time he spent behind the wheel.

He enjoyed playing cards and appreciated the simple things in life. He treasured the times he shared with his family.

Joe is survived by his children: Ashley Bowles, Tammy Owen (Robby), Chris Hammett (Shelly).  He is also survived by his siblings; Sara Thomas (Joe), George Bowles (Nancy) and Cathy Williams, his grandchildren; Logan Bowles, Ryan Bowles, Hailey Bowles, Kayleen McCrory, Dylan Owen and Jessica Wellington and his great-grandchildren; Evelyn Wellington and Annika McCrory.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Linda Knott, Edward “Ned” Bowles, and brother-in-law Buster Williams.
