John "Johnny" Stevens Obituary

    John Michael Stevens 65, of Hartly, DE passed away on May 1, 2025.  A beloved son, father, and grandfather.  He was born on May 1, 1960 in Dover, DE, son to Thomas and Mary Stevens.

     John, commonly known as Johnny, was raised in Wyoming DE and graduated from Caesar Rodney High School.  Johnny worked as a butcher.  He loved to fish and ride in his old truck,and ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Johnny also loved to cook and spend time in Key West, FL. Johnny also enjoyed spending the holidays with his family.

     Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mary Stevens; his sister Karen; his brothers Tommy and Ronnie; his maternal grandparents George D. and Blanche Holden; and his paternal grandparents Frank and Lulu Stevens.

     Johnny is survived by his fiancé Anne Newlin of Hartly DE; his daughter Autumn Stevens of Middletown DE and her mother Kelly Mereider of Dover DE; his  sisters Mary Draper (William) of Wyoming DE and Molly Brown of Felton DE; his  grandchildren Shawn Stanford and Aniyah Williams of Middletown, DE; his great grandchildren: Taye Lynn Duffy and Ezekiel Johnson; his  nephews Ronnie Brown of Dover, DE and BJ Draper of Wyoming DE; his  great niece Jadyn Brown and great-great niece Myla Griffth of Dover DE, and a host of friends and his cats Ralphie and Odie.

     Johnny made friends everywhere he would go. He was a great friend to all who knew him.  Johnny was loving, caring, and giving, when Johnny was little, he was a little on the ornery side.  He will be missed by many.

     A funeral service will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Saturday.  Burial will follow in Hopkins Cemetery, Felton.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite #205, New Castle, DE 19720 or to the Clayton Lions Club, 99 S. Cory Lane, Smyrna, DE 19977 or to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
