John (JR) Russell Nalbone

John Russell (JR) Nalbone, age 80, passed away May 3, 2026.

JR was born January 30, 1946. He was raised in Wyoming DE. He graduated from Caesar Rodney High School.

He started his construction business soon after high school, known later as AAA Services Drywall and Repair Specialist for over 50 years. He was a highly skilled carpenter and could repair pretty much anything.

Anyone who knew “JR” knew his passion to the harness racing and local casinos. Whether he was studying the program for a harness racing heat or enjoying his time at the Delaware casinos, JR was in his element. He loved the energy of the race, the thrill of the win and the many friendships he built over the years in those familiar halls.  He also enjoyed spending Sundays watching Football with his friend Allan Wolf.

He is preceded in death by his father Vincenzo Frank (Jim) Nalbone, his mother Jeannette L. Nalbone, step mother Florence Nalbone and sister Lisa L. Nalbone.

He is survived by his former spouse, Barbara Nalbone, daughters Brenda Porter (Jeff), Lisa Lambert (Vernon) and Donna Nalbone. Brother Ronald Nalbone (Sandra), Sister Regina Bright, step brothers and sisters, Robert Wyatt, George (Billy) Wyatt, Louis Wyatt, Sharon Wyatt, Betty Wyatt and Ruth Rains.

Grandchildren- Jessicca Hurd (Robert), Amanda Daniel (Charles), Cole Porter, Cody Lambert (Kelsey)

Great grandchildren- Carly Hurd, Aubree Daniel, Bryson Daniel, Lane Hurd, Weston Lambert and Braylee Lambert and a host of nieces and nephews.

Interment will be private.
