John J. Hart of Felton, Delaware passed away on 18 April, 2021, in Polaris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Milford, DE.
He was born 6 November, 1929 in New York and was a graduate of Sewanhaka High School, where he met his wife, Constance (nee Forbes) who preceded him in death.
John served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War, and then later as an accomplished pilot and Captain in the Civil Air Patrol.
Devoted to the Catholic Church, John was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church on Long Island and served as a long-term member of the Joseph Lamb Council of the Knights if Columbus, where he rose to 4th degree Grand Knight.
Lastly, he was a respected member of the New York and Delaware business communities, and served as a long-term member of the Camden, Delaware planning commission.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cornelia Hart, his sister, June Devine, and son-in-law, Tom Moore. He is survived by his daughters and their spouses Deborah Moore, Denise Weber (James), and Darlene Tahany (Sean); his grandchildren Michael Moore, John Weber, James Weber Jr, Matthew Moore, Jessica Rissler, Breanna Tahany, Aidan Tahany, and Caroline Tahany, his great grandchildren Riley Rissler, Jonathan Weber, Caden Rissler, Elizabeth Moore, Nora Weber, Jason Weber, Jennifer Weber, Abigail Moore, Clare Weber, Jack Weber, Bella Weber, Austin Moore, Addison Moore, Jackson Weber and Julianna Weber; and his faithful dog, Sammy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 S. State St. Dover, DE. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the ASPCA. Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
