John B. Newman, of Felton, DE, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus, on November 13, 2021 in the Center at Eden Hill, Dover. He was 80.
John was born July 3, 1941 in Wilmington, DE to the late, Benjamin & Helen Leach. He attended William Penn High School and later in life, graduated from Liberty University. He followed an interesting path, starting at a boys home in Baltimore as a counselor, then enlisted into the United States Army. After completing his military service, he worked for DuPont before moving to New Hampshire, where he married the love of his life Carole in 1969. John moved back to Delaware in 1975, and began a career working at Procter and Gamble, retiring in 2014.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William & Stephen Leach.
John is survived by his wife of 52 years Carole(Blythe) Newman; 2 sons, David Newman & wife, Gonul; and Matthew Newman; his daughter, Monica Bird & husband, Mark; grandsons, Mason & Max; and an aunt, Annie Whayland, of Nashua, New Hampshire.
John loved to fish , hunt birds and small game, and always had a Pointer at his side. He loved biking and rode 10-20 miles a day all the way up to his 79th year. John loved his family, his Country,and above all his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and his family of faith at Laws Mennonite Church.
Funeral Services will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE; where family and friends may view from 10am-12 noon. Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Center at Eden Hill Hospice, 300 Banning St., Dover, DE 19904.
