Joan Frances (Benenati) McNiece

Joan Frances McNiece, age 88 of Camden, DE passed away on January 26, 2023.  Joan was born June 12, 1934, in New Jersey, the daughter of Jasper & Jean Benenati

Joan became a fully professed nun in the late 50’s and early 60’s with the Sisters of St. John the Baptist.  Her career found her teaching at several schools in New York and New Jersey. She attended Seton Hall University and Kean University where she studied art, business & education.

She married William McNiece in 1976 and later moved to Delaware after retirement.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Nicholas Benenati, Sr.

She is survived by her husband, William, her brother, Louie Guarinello, her nephews, Nicholas Jr. (Barbara), Edward & Clifford (Katia) Benenati, extended family and friends.

Memorial Gathering Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE.  Funeral Mass 12 Noon, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at the Church of the Holy Cross, Dover, DE.  Interment of cremated remains to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover, DE.
