Jeffrey Robert Wickersham, 63, of Magnolia, Delaware passed away on January 18, 2025 at Christiana Hospital with his daughter, partner, and son-in-love by his side.
Jeff is survived by his beloved beagle, Kimber; his very best friend and daughter, Mollie Roth (Chris) of Dover; love of his life Melanie Patterson of Magnolia; his three cherished grandsons Dylan, Brayden and Parker Roth of Dover; his four bonus grandchildren Ethan, Aibhlinn, Logan and Deaglan of Dover; stepdaughter Robin Ramsey of Albertville Ala. and many friends who have been like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alan and Mollie Wickersham of Sylacauga, Ala; his wife Vicky L. Wickersham of Magnolia; his brother Alan R. Wickersham Jr. of Williamston, NC; and one of his most treasured friends, Alex Garcia of Magnolia.
Born to the late Alan and Mollie Wickersham, the military lifestyle was deeply engrained into his life, and he called many places home before settling in Magnolia to plant his roots in the early 90’s. During the many years he spent moving around, he forged some of the greatest friendships, which he truly cherished and maintained over the years. Jeff truly believed that friends, family, and faith is what made a great life.
Jeff proudly served in the United States Air Force Reserve for 37 years as a Pilot on the KC-135 and C-5 aircraft. The military family he formed with the men and women of the 512th Airlift Wing was profound, and his goofy sense of humor, and occasional prank, was known by every single person in the building. At the very top of his priorities, he was a dedicated father and grandfather and found immense joy in supporting them in every single aspect of their lives. Jeff was an avid supporter of the 2nd amendment and had an unwavering passion for anything firearms related.
Between Steel Shoots, Battle Rifle Shoots and being a member of several local ranges, he made himself a staple in the local shooting community. Camping was his only hobby he had that trumped shooting. Whether it be a weekend getaway with Melanie or spending long weekends with his Grandchildren hunting sasquatches and smoking delicious meats---simply slowing down and spending time with his family in the great outdoors were some of his greatest adventures.
A memorial service for Jeffrey will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 7:00pm at Pippin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00pm.
