Jeanette Berry Obituary

Jeanette D. Berry, 75 of Magnolia, formerly of Cliffside Park, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 24th at her home. Born April 12, 1945 in Henderson, NC, she is predeceased by her parents, Richard Henry Jones and Carrie B. Alston and her stepfather James Pernell Alston.

Jeanette married the love of her life and best friend, Ronson E. Berry, on August 5, 1963. The couple lived full lives together while raising their two children, Warrie and Eric.

Jeanette was employed by Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 25 years, after retiring she co- founded the Noble Group Insurance Agency. In addition to being a successful businesswoman, Jeanette was an active member in the community. She was the Co- Founder, Vice President and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Bergen-Passaic Chapter of the Coalition of 100 Black Women for 20 years, a member of the National Association of Insurance Women Northern New Jersey (NAIW-NNJ) and the United Way of Bergen County. She also enjoyed meeting with her Book Club family. Despite her busy schedule, family was Jeanette’s true happiness and delight. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren especially during the holidays as well as cooking, gardening, traveling, and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Ronson (Ron), two children, daughter Warrie Howell (Robert), son Eric Berry (Molly) and three granddaughters Isabella Berry, Ariana Berry and Gabriella Berry and numerous close friends.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days.
