Jane L. Hartranft

Jane Louise Hartranft, age 94, passed away peacefully at her home on February 15, 2026. Born in Marcus Hook, PA, she was the daughter of the late Aaron and Emily Battis.

Jane married Harry T. Hartranft in February of 1955, and together they shared 61 years of marriage until his passing in 2016. They had four children, Harry (predeceased), Aaron (Cathy), Mary Jane (Scott), and Linda (Scott).

Jane was an active member of Chichester Wesleyan Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and helping prepare meals with the ladies of the church for church suppers. Some of her fondest memories were attending the ladies’ retreats in Virginia and Lancaster. She was an avid reader, talented seamstress, and enjoyed doing puzzles. Above all, Jane cherished her family and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Emily Battis, her husband, Harry T. Hartranft, and her son, Harry. She is survived by three children, six grandchildren and their spouses, six great-grandchildren, and her extended family.

A private service will be held on April 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
