James Edward Spencer, Jr. "Montana, Treetop, Slim, The Bouncer, Shot Gun" was born to the late James Edward Spencer, Sr and Henrietta Spencer in Baltimore MD on April 8, 1950. He was raised in Milton, DE. He attended Milton Middle School, Lewes Elementary and Jason High School.
James drove trucks for over 45 years for numerous trucking companies. He always said he loved driving over the road. He retired in 2022. Shortly after he went back to driving for K & J trucking. His most recent job was driving for RJK Transportation Company. He was a very outgoing person, very outspoken and in his words" Didn't hold no punches."
He enjoyed spending time in the Boom Boom Room listening to all types of music and dancing. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan.
"Honey Bunt" leaves behind his loving wife Joyce "Honey Bun" "Juke" as he called her of 27 years of which they shared the same birthdate April 8; his children: Tamara Purnell (Troy) of Hagerstown, MD, Lisa Spencer Seaford, DE, Thomas Mitchell (Cynthia) Ellendale, DE, Alvin Wright (Tiffany) Allentown, PA, Tonya Spencer Salisbury, MD, Jessica Smith (Anthony) Cheswold, DE, Roger Johnson Smyrna, DE, Prestina Johnson Memphis, TN and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sons Bernard Franklin and Rodney Johnson; granddaughters Bre'Nea Franklin and Bri'ana Wright and great granddaughter Ra'Zhyia Taylor-Spencer.
James turned in his earthy garnishment in exchange for an external tux on August 19, 2023. He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Faith, Hope and Love Christian Fellowship, 218 N. Rehoboth Boulevard, Milford, DE 19963 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday. Burial will follow in Milford Community Cemetery.
