James “Jimmy” Elliott, 74, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, in Seaford, Delaware. Born on March 14, 1951, in Easton, Maryland, Jimmy lived a life marked by hard work, deep family bonds, and an infectious sense of humor that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Jimmy began his career as a truck driver and later worked for several years at Dupont and Penco before finishing his professional journey at Solo Cup. Throughout his working life, he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Family was at the heart of everything Jimmy did. He shared a close bond with his siblings—Wanda Meredith, Robert Elliott, Tommy Elliott, and Johnny Ray Elliott, nieces— Lori Hicks, Bobbi Larrimore, and Crystal Elliott, nephews— Eddie Meredith Jr., Shawn Meredith, Johnny Elliott Jr., Billy Elliott, Jarrod Elliott and Robert Elliott Jr.— and held a special place in his heart for his great niece Tara Larrimore, who was like a daughter to him. He also cherished the relationships he had with his many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Stacey Elliott; his parents, Irene and John Elliott; his sister Joan Larrimore; his niece Dawn Ruark; and several aunts and uncles. The loss of these loved ones left deep marks on Jimmy’s heart, but he carried their memories with him always.
Jimmy had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and football and could often be found enjoying classic westerns on television. One of his favorite places to unwind was Myrtle Beach—a destination that brought him and his wife joy and relaxation over the years.
Known for his quick wit and warm spirit, Jimmy had an extraordinary ability to bring laughter into any room. His lighthearted nature made even difficult moments easier to bear. He loved fiercely—especially his mother, siblings, and wife—and those who spent time with him were drawn to his positive outlook and magnetic personality.
Jimmy’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and resilience. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire smiles for years to come.
Information about services will be provided to friends and family at a later time.
