James A. Riggi, Sr., went home to his heavenly home on April 26, 2025 surrounded by Terri and Patt, two of his sisters from Dover, his sister Beth was there in spirit, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE.
Jim, as he was known to many, was born December 26, 1945 in Batavia, NY to James F. Riggi and Eva E. Eagleton.
Jim had many challenges in his life. At a young age he had polio, followed by intensive physical therapy. Jim enjoyed Cub Scouts as a child and followed it through to becoming an Eagle Scout. He also played Little League. Jim also enjoyed playing football for Batavia High School, of which he graduated in 1963.
He later enjoyed enduro races, photography, competitive figure and dance in roller skating, and raising and showing dogs.
Jim had various jobs before he started his career in computers. He retired from First Data as a Data Base Director.
He was preceded in death by both his parents.
Jim is survived by 3 sisters, Terri Lang of Dover, Patt McDowell (Bob) of Dover, and Beth Goodman (Roger) of Milan, TN, Jim was very proud of his four children, Scott Riggi (Karen) of Lebanon, TN, Michael Riggi (Kelly) of Rochester, NY, Nicole Dill (Gary) of Chapin, SC, and James A. Riggi, Jr. (Robin) of Wilmington, DE, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, special friends Terri Proctor, Brooke Moyer, and Raynetta Buchholz.
Services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
