James Alfred Rash, 79, of Wyoming, Delaware passed away on June 29, 2025. James was born in Felton, Delaware to the late John and Margaret Rash. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Calvin Rash, and his great grandson, Giovanni Gabriele Maddalena.
James was employed by Polytech High School for over 37 years. He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ in Christian Union. James will be remembered as someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Known as Pop to many, his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he enjoyed spending his time with them.
From a young age, he shared a special bond with his wife, Linda, having been by her side since he was 13. Together, they created countless cherished memories and were inseparable companions in life’s journey.
James loved camping, his Ford vehicles, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—driving by, you would often see their garage door open, where he and Linda would be sitting side by side in their chairs, enjoying each other’s company.
James’ joyful spirit and playful jokes brought smiles and laughter to everyone around him. His warmth and humor will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
James is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda Rash; children, Elaine Harrington (Allen), Mark Rash (Cheryl) and Carol Shuba (Brian); 8 grandchildren, Taylor Richard (Herbie), Morgan Sedgwick (Gary), Nicole Johnson (DJ), Colby Rash (Aubrey), Jordan Shuba (Sarah), Logan Rash, Jessica Maddalena (Marco) and Lindsey Shuba; 4 great-grandchildren, Brook Richard, Weston Richard, Landon Johnson and Rhett Johnson; and sister in law, Dorothy Rash; as well as extended family member and friends.
A visitation will take place on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Pippin Funeral Home. The funeral service for James will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at 11:00am at Pippin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Burial will follow at Sharon Hills in Dover. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the Henderson Church of Christ and Christian Union, PO Box 15, Henderson, MD 21640.
