James F. Norris, Jr.

     James “Jim” F. Norris, Jr 76 of Hartly passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. 

     James was born September 4, 1948 in Wilmington to the late James F. Norris, Sr. and Geraldine (Fuhr) Norris.

     Jim is preceded in death by his sister’s Karen Norris of Georgetown and Bertha Mae  (Harman) Naumann of Newark and his brother Wayne Norris, Sr of Wilmington.

     Jim is survived by his wife of 27 years, Victoria B. Norris and step-son Matthew Chaffee (Dawn) of Milton. His former wife of 24 years, Pauline Norris of Camden and their children Lois DelPilar (Damon) of Clayton, Tonya Watson (Doug) of Hartly, Julie Norris of Camden, and Josh Norris (Kaitlin) of Camden. Also, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

     Jim enjoyed many activities in his life time including traveling, body surfing, and woodworking. Jim’s favorite pass times were eating ice cream, spending time with his family and watching TV. His favorite TV programs were crime stories and sports, Go Ravens, Phillies and Eagles!

     Jim had many jobs during his working career including Construction worker with Union 255 and high rise construction worker. Jim found his final career working in the health field. Starting as a CNA and continuing his education to become a LPN. Jim worked several years in long term care but found his true passion working as a hospice nurse for over 10 years. Jim was very committed and hardworking. In 2019 he received the Nursing Excellence in End-of-Life Care recognition award.

     Jim was a pillar of his family and will be greatly missed!
