James R Hutchins, age 91, of Camden Delaware, passed away on June 11, 2026
Born on March 24, 1935, Jim was the child of James Hutchins and Dorothy Scarlett Hutchins.
Jim is survived by his wife, of 68 years, Eleanor V. Allen Hutchins, his children Deborah L. Hutchins (Robert Swartz), James D Hutchins, his grandchildren, Matthew R Young,
(Erica), Robin C. Young Bauza (Eric), Shelby Hutchins, Tyler J. Young (Chantel), and Leo Swartz, six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Starr Ernst Hutchins and his grandson James D Hutchins Jr.
He retired in 1994 as the city of Linwood’s Superintendent of Public works. Jim is known for his meticulously clean cars. So clean, there was a line to purchase his used car when he went to buy a new one. In his younger years, Jim enjoyed skiing, traveling, and riding his motorcycle. Jim said he has no regrets in life. He has seen and did everything he wanted. He was a faithful member of Three Stones Church where he developed and cherished his friendship with Pastor Jim Dorton.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2026 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, where visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Three Stones Church, 1476 E. Lebanon Rd., Dover, DE 19901.
