Irene Ruth Emery, 105, of Dover, Delaware, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026. Irene was born in Willow Grove, Delaware, to the late Robert and Elizabeth Greenley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles E. Emery; her infant daughter, Deborah Emery; and her sisters, Cora Bilbrough, Ruby Whitney, and Thelma Queen.
Irene was a deeply devoted and faithful member of Dover First Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where her presence, kindness, and heart touched many lives over the years. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving her church community. Irene’s love for God was evident in the way she lived, through compassion, generosity, and unwavering dedication to others.
She also owned and operated her own business, Irene’s Beauty Shop, where she warmly connected with her community as a hairstylist. Irene will be remembered for her deep devotion and her steadfast belief that family was everything.
She is survived by her son, Robert Emery; her daughter, Diane Cook; and her grandchildren, Lyndsey Dietz, and Jeremy Cook.
A memorial service to honor Irene’s life will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Pippin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
