Ina Ellen Hobbs, of Roselle, N.J., went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 11, 2021, in Robert Wood Johnson/Barnabas Hospital, Rahway, N.J. She was 76.
Ina was the youngest of 4 children born to the late Enoch Jasper Hobbs and the late Georgeanna Hobbs of Greenwood, DE. Ina was educated in the Delaware Public School System, and continued her education at Delaware State College. She received her Masters Degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Ina loved to travel. She took two pilgrimages to Israel where she was baptized in the Jordan River. She made trips to Africa, and countless other places throughout the U.S.A. and abroad many times.
Ina was a life long member of St.Matthew A.M.E. Church in Orange, N.J., and was a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart.
Ina was employed by the City of Newark, N.J. School System for over 30 years as a school teacher.
Ina was preceded in death by a sister & brother-in-law, Virginia & Josephus Felton.
Ina leaves to cherish her memory 2 sisters, Jerlene Battle, of Greenwood; and Eloise Blackston & husband, Samuel, of Milford; nieces & nephews, Michelle Battle, of Philadelphia; Aaron Blackston, with whom she resided; Tyrone Blackston, of Dover, DE; Reggie Battle, of Philadelphia; Daryl Felton, of Newark, N.J.; great nephews, Andre Battle, of Greenwood, DE, and Idris Sutton, of Newark, N.J.; and a great-niece, Michelle Fatokun, of Philadelphia. Ina will be missed by her family, and all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00pm, Friday, July 23, 2021 in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may gather from 11am-1pm. Burial will follow in Old Hickory Cemetery, Lincoln, DE. Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
