Ila Joyce (Owen) Blythe

Ila Joyce Blythe of Hartly, DE passed away October 14, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living in Dover, DE, after a long illness.  She was 78 years old.  Ila was born in Dover, DE to Donald and Gladys Owens and was raised on a small farm in Hartly, DE.  She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1963 and later married James Theodore Blythe and enjoyed a good life.

Mrs. Blythe worked at various jobs until the birth of their son, and she became a full-time mother until he was in college.  

She was proceeded in death by her husband, James Theodore Blythe; son, Doctor James Owen Blythe; her parents; older sister, Frances Deneumoustier Robbins; brother-in-law Edward Smith and other relatives and friends.

Ila is survived by daughter in law, Jamie Blythe; granddaughter, Rebecca Blythe; sister Rose Ann Smith; nephew Ralph Deneumoustier, his wife Cheryl, their daughter, Tabitha Anne (Ryan) Davis, their son, Emory; and many friends who provided help to her as her health declined.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE, where friends may gather one hour prior.  Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover, DE.
