Harriet C. Harris, better known by those who truly knew her as "Bucky," passed away at the age of 70, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and a whole lot of unforgettable memories. Known for her wild spirit, feisty attitude, and unapologetically hood mannerisms, Harriet lived her life her way, bold, loud, and full of heart.
A true life of the party, Harriet could always be found posted up at home with a cold Rolling Rock beer in hand, talking her talk and making sure everybody knew exactly where she stood. Whether you were family, friend, or stranger, once you crossed Harriet's path, you were sure to remember her — sharp-tongued, quick-witted, and full of fire.
Though she loved the party, Harriet's heart was firmly rooted in her home. Her couch was her throne, and her closest friends, Pam, Michelle, and Tim Dog, were her loyal crew. Days turned into nights filled with jokes, storytelling, and laughter.
Harriet wore her title of "Mommom" with pride, but she lit up even more when she became "GiGi." Her great-grandchildren were her world, and she dedicated her final years to loving on them, babysitting, spoiling them rotten, and waiting faithfully for the school bus each day. They were her joy and her legacy, and she made sure they knew it.
Bucky was the definition of real, no filters, no faking. She was tough when she needed to be, but soft when it came to the ones she loved. She didn't just live life, she owned it.
Harriet was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mary Harris and David Harris; and her two brothers Oscar Williams and Tommy Williams.
She leaves behind her beloved siblings: Thomas Minus, Beverly Wyatt (John), David Wayne Harris, and Gwendolyn Winchester (William), all of Delaware.
She also leaves behind her two children, Lisa Harris and Michael Harris; four grandchildren: Daqaun Harris (Stephanie), Mariah Harris, Hanna Scott, and Grant Harris, all of Delaware; her extended grandchild, Devin Scott of Nebraska; and her three great-grandchildren: Dallas Harris, London Harris, and Dash Shells, all of Delaware. In addition, Harriet leaves behind her two special friends, Allen Finlayson and Harry Adams; a host of nieces and nephews; and countless others whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on in every Rolling Rock raised, every loud laugh shared, and every bold spirit she helped inspire.
