Harley Murphy Obituary

In Loving Memory of Harley Murphy

Harley Murphy was born on October 19, 1980, to Gladys Ford and Harley Murphy. Later in life, he was lovingly adopted by his late father, Gary Norton, who embraced him as his own and loved him unconditionally.

Harley was surrounded by the love of his family throughout his life. Some of their most treasured memories include family trips to the beach, swimming together, and cheering him on at his Special Olympics events. He attended Charlton, where he formed lasting memories and friendships.

Although Harley faced many challenges throughout his life, he met them with remarkable strength, a warm smile, and an unforgettable sense of humor. His kind heart and joyful spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a special love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, enjoyed making crafts, and cherished every opportunity to spend time with his family.

Throughout the years, Harley was lovingly cared for and supported by his devoted mother, Gladys Norton, and his family, whose unwavering love remained by his side. Harley was preceded in death by his beloved adoptive father, Gary Norton; his biological father, Harley Murphy; and his brother, Thurley Murphy.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving mother, Gladys Norton; his sister, April Bedwell and her husband, James Bedwell; his sister, Deborah Moore and her husband, James Moore; his beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and grandparents; along with his extended family and many friends whose lives he touched.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful nurses whose compassionate care, kindness, and dedication brought Harley comfort and support throughout his journey.  Your care meant more than words can express.

A private celebration of Harley's life will be held for immediate family, friends and nurses who cared for Harley over the years.
