George Edward “Peanut” Marshall, 66, of Dover, Delaware passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026. Born on May 1, 1958 in Milford, Delaware, George—affectionately known as “Peanut”—was the son of the late Clifton L. Sr. and Rae B. Marshall.
George received his early education at W.T. Chipman Elementary School and later graduated from Milford Senior High School. During his high school years, he was an active athlete who ran track and played football, building friendships and memories that stayed with him throughout his life.
After graduating, George began a long and dedicated career as a professional truck driver. He was employed by First State Crane as well as several other construction and trucking companies over the years. He took great pride in his work, and he enjoyed cooking as a hobby. In his later years, he enjoyed traveling.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton L. Marshall Sr. and Rae B. Marshall, and his eldest brother, Clifton L. Marshall Jr.
He leaves his three daughters: Pamila R. Ayala (Nelson), Shannon L. Marshall, and Vanessa Marshall. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Cristiana Hale (Michael), Darion Marshall, Alexi Ayala, Zyaira Marshall, Nelson H. Ayala Jr., and Aryiana Marshall; and three great grandchildren.
George is survived by his siblings: William J. Marshall (Carolyn) of Jacksonville, FL, Deborah L. Jackson (Marshall Lee) of Tacoma, WA, Paul D. Marshall of Dover, DE, Karen Gary (Joseph) of Lafayette, LA, Dinah L. Marshall of Magnolia, DE, Kevin W. Marshall (Rosezine) of Farmington, DE and Jacqueline Y. Jones of Dover, DE. Additionally, a very special nephew, Clifton L. Marshall II, who was raised as his brother; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who loved him and will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 30, 2026 at Emanuel Pentecostal Church of God, 145 Center Street, Camden, DE 19934 where there will be a viewing from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.
