George A. Day and Charlotte D. Day of Millsboro, DE passed away peacefully on April 2 and April 5, 2026, respectively.
George, aged 84 and Charlotte, aged 77, were married for 42 years, and were inseparable partners who spent their lives together – making a home with George’s mom Mary in Media, PA, spending summers in Rehoboth, DE, enjoying the company of friends and family, and retiring to their beach house. They had a shared love of music, concerts, especially Andrea Bocelli, meals at their favorite diner and Dairy Queen.
George was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was a heavy machine operator. George enjoyed history and reading.
Charlotte worked for the Franklin Mint, and later for the Aston Presbyterian Church Learning Center. She had a green thumb and many always admired her beautiful gardens at her home in Media, PA and later in Millsboro, DE. Charlotte also enjoyed reading and spending early evenings with her best girlfriends.
They are survived by a sister and brother-in-law, a step-brother, a sister-in-law, 3 nieces and many dear friends.
They were preceded in death by George’s parents, George Day and Mary Day (Bolduc), and Charlotte’s parents, Charles Dennis and Laura Dennis (Crawford).
Their burial will be on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 1 PM at Calvary Cemetery in Media, PA. A joint celebration of life will be held in Millsboro, DE at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or The Salvation Army.
