Gayle lived in several places throughout her lifetime including York Maine, Meredith New Hampshire, Lewes Delaware and Charleston South Carolina. She returned to her home state of Delaware in 2020, making Milford her home.
Gayle’s career was mainly in newspaper publishing and sales. Gayle loved all animals, especially cats, and adored her two cats Winston and Jaxon. She will forever be remembered for her sense of humor and quick wit. Gayle could make any situation laughable which endeared her to many.
She is predeceased by her parents, and survived by her brother, Dean Wheeler of York, Maine. While Gayle never married, she lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count. Among them is her lifelong friend Susan Austin of Milford and Maria Sportelli of Milford, whom she considered family.
