Gary Warren, Sr. a native of Milford, DE was born on March 6, 1950 to Oscar and Katherine Warren.
He graduated from Milford High School. Upon graduation from high school, he married the love of his life, Mabel Hovington. From this union Gary Warren, Jr. was born.
After several months of marriage, Gary was drafted into the Army where he served in Vietnam. In 1978, Gary received Christ as his Savior and attended United Deliverance Bible Center in Laurel DE under the leadership of Bishop Catherine Camper. When he gained his wings, Gary was under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Wallace of Crossroad Christian Church of Dover.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mabel; son Gary Warren, Jr. (Tana); two sisters Katherine Rose of Pennsylvania and Marilyn Doyle (Jerry) of New Hampshire; two brothers-in-law Samuel Dennis of Millsboro and Ronnie Hovington of Georgetown; two sisters-in-law Carol Dennis of Millsboro and Jane Hovington of Georgetown; five grandchildren: Danielle Warren of Waldorf and Brooke Warren of Salisbury, MD, Getara and Gary Warren, III of Laurel, and Kayla Emerson of Clarksville, DE. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, very special friends: Dr. David and Melanie Birch, Carnestia Brackett (AKA Bear), Bernie and Sharon Burnside and two special cousins Darryl and Juanita.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Steve.
A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 6, 2026 at St. Johns 2nd Baptist Church, 26602 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, DE 19966 where there will be a viewing from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Thursday. Burial with military honors will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
