Gail Wenteler Obituary

Gail Lynn Carlen Wenteler went home to Jesus on January 7, 2025, at age 73.

Gail was born to William and Catherine Carlen on May 19, 1951, in Doylestown, PA. Growing up, Gail enjoyed reading, singing, sledding in the snow, and having fun with family and friends.

Gail leaves behind a large family who loved and adored her deeply. She is survived by her older daughter, Kathie Lundin, her husband Jon, and their children: Benjamin, Jonathan, Annika, Levi, Grace, Titus, and Evelyn, her younger daughter, LauraBeth Wenteler, and her children: Timothy and his wife Liliani, Noah, Emma, Aria, and Ezra, who also cherished her greatly. She also leaves behind her sisters, Sharon Leigh (husband Mike) and Kathy McGee, and their families.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Gail also loved spending time with family and friends, working on crossword puzzles, taking pictures, dark chocolate, covered bridges, reading, watching Hallmark movies, taking country drives with her best friend, Julie, and granddaughter, Liliani (with whom she went weekly to the library and stores to buy her chocolate and crosswords). She was renowned throughout Delaware for her baking, winning numerous medals and awards at the Delaware State Fair for 33 years. She faithfully attended church and was deeply involved in numerous ministries, mentoring others and spreading God’s love. Of all the thousands of books she ever read her favorite book was the Bible. Her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 53:6. Gail was loved by more people than we could ever count. If you asked for her prayers, you could be sure she prayed for you every day with unwavering faith.

These verses describe Gail perfectly, as she was the most faithful servant of the Lord.

— Matthew 25:21(KJV)

“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

— 2 Timothy 4:6-8 (KJV)

“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
