Gabriel Anthony Suto, 32, died Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in a motorcycle accident. He was born August 26, 1989, in Pordenone, Italy, while his father was stationed with the Air Force at Aviano Air Force Base. In 1991 his family moved to Dover Air Force Base, DE, for a final military assignment. Since then, he resided with his family in the Dover area for the remainder of his life.
In addition to his intellect, Gabriel took the world as it came. He didn't fluster, had a ready smile, was in perpetual motion, and was always moving forward to his next goal. He treated everyone with respect and moved between disparate groups of people with ease. Gabriel was exceptional.
He was a computer technician and took great pride in building computers. Gabriel showed exceptional skill not only with electronics but also with mechanics, spending time working on trucks and motorcycles. Gabriel had a deep passion for flying drones, playing golf, and sailing. He also was an accomplished musician and his family and friends enjoyed listening to Gabriel playing the piano.
Gabriel graduated from Wesley College earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business with a concentration in Economics. A graduate of Caesar Rodney High School, he was active on the wrestling team as well as playing Lacrosse both in high school and college. At Caesar Rodney High, Gabriel played trumpet in both the concert and the marching bands. During his career as a Boy Scout and beyond membership in Boy Scout Troop #154, he spent many happy years camping, rafting, snowboarding, fishing, sailing and learning skills that supported the work he did to achieve the highest honor bestowed on a Boy Scout: his project earned him the Eagle Scout award. Gabriel was active in his faith community, serving the Catholic Community at the Dover Air Force Base as a reliable and dedicated Altar Boy.
He was predeceased by maternal grandparents Mary (Tsakami) and Anthony Scarlett, and paternal grandmother Lynn Suto. Gabriel is survived by his parents Gabe and Debbie Suto, sister Niki de Leon (Justin), niece Matilija, grandfather Gabriel Suto, Uncle Anthony Scarlett (Ashleigh), Uncle Gary Suto, Aunt Kirsten Seckler (Chuck), Uncle Timothy Suto (Sarah) and cousins Barbara, Rebecca, Tiffany, Ethan, Penelope, Garett, and Paige as well as many more loving aunts, uncles and cousins in Greece.
