With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Franklin Carman IV, age 13, of Camden-Wyoming, Delaware, who left us on March 6, 2026.
Franklin was born on September 22, 2012, in Dover, Delaware, to Frank Carman III and Samantha Berry. In his 13 years, he brought endless laughter, kindness, and energy to everyone who knew him.
He was a 7th grade student at Fifer Middle School, where he enjoyed Trading Card Club and Dungeons and Dragons Club. He had a natural talent for drawing and loved spending hours sketching, creating characters, and bringing ideas to life on paper. When he wasn’t drawing, he could often be found building things—whether with Legos or creating projects with wood in the workshop—turning simple materials into amazing creations through his curiosity and clever mind.
Franklin also had a deep love for music. It was something that brought him joy and was often part of his daily life, filling the room with energy and helping him express his creativity and spirit.
Above all, Franklin had a kind and caring heart. He had a special way of lifting others up, especially his sisters. Whenever they were sad, Franklin always knew how to make them smile again—whether through his humor, a kind word, or simply being there for them. His warmth, empathy, and ability to brighten someone’s day made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Samantha Berry; his father and stepmother, Frank Carman III and Brittany Oakey; and his sisters, Emma and Jacey.
He is also deeply loved and remembered by his grandparents, Frank and Anita Carman, Mike and Carmen Torres, Bob and LeaAnn Berry and Dan and Bonny Bergeron, who cherished him dearly.
He will be dearly missed by his aunts and uncles, Matt and Lisa Carman, Isabel and Mark Carman, Sarah and Corey Mantei, Shawn Torres, Heather Torres, and DJ and Andrea Bergeron.
He also leaves behind his beloved cousins, along with many friends, classmates, and teachers whose lives were brightened by him and who will miss him deeply.
Though his time with us was far too short, Franklin brought joy, laughter, creativity, and kindness into the lives of everyone who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many lives he touched.
A celebration of life will be held for friends and the community date to be determined, with a private celebration of life at a later time for the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Fred Fifer III Middle School – Trading Card Club and Dungeons and Dragons Club.
