Francis Conrad Nichols, Sr.

     Francis Conrad Nichols, Sr., of Dover, passed Thursday, January 6, 2022 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 91.

     Francis was born January 21, 1930 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania to the late, Conrad & Grace(Davenport) Nichols. He worked for the City of Dover as an engineer for 24 years, retiring in 1989. He was a Member of Wyoming United Methodist Church and the Free & Accepted Masons, Union Lodge # 7. In his free time he enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family.

He also was a past member and Captain in the United States Coast Guard Auxilliary.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Francis C. Nichols, Jr. and a brother, Eugene D. Nichols.

    Francis is survived by his wife of 71 years, Shirley Ann(Everett) Nichols; 2 sons, Jon C. Nichols, Sr. & wife, Melanie, of Dover and Michael C. Nichols & wife, Carole, of Harmony, North Carolina; a sister, Carolyn Osgood & husband, Geoffrey, of Monson, Mass.; a daughter-in-law, Diana(Torres) Nichols, of Chestertown, MD.; 6 grandchildren, Jon C. Nichols, jr. & wife, Susan of Dover; Robert C. Nichols & wife, Ariane, of Magnolia; Matthew D. Nichols & wife, Elizabeth, of Jupiter, Florida; Heather Wooters & husband, Charles, of Sudlersville, MD.; Justin C. Nichols & wife, Kristin, of Harmony, N.C.; and Tina L. Moore, of Dover; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jon Wesley Nichols, Parker Dawson Nichols, Harrison Finn Nichols, Aspen Riley Nichols, Audrey Sadie Nichols, Mason Newton Nichols, Emelia Dawn Nichols, Dominick Wooters, Connor Wooters, and Elena Wooters.

    A Masonic Service will be held 11am, Saturday, January 15, 2022 with funeral beginning at 11:15am in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE; where family and friends may view from 10-11 am. Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
