Obituary

Floyd William Fisher was born at Milford Hospital in Delaware on February 20, 1949, to the late William and Nora B. Fisher.  He peacefully departed this life on Friday, November 18, 2022, at his daughter’s home.

He received his formal education in Sussex County Delaware by attending the 222 Elementary School and graduated from William C. Jason in 1967.  In school he played  basketball, baseball and ran track.  Floyd was always a hard worker.  Throughout high school he did odd jobs like farming and selling newspapers to earn money.  After high school he began working for New Process Fibre Company in Greenwood Delaware.  He worked there for 47 years and retired.  Floyd enjoyed bowling, cutting grass, and landscaping in his spare time.  During his later years he found joy spending time with his daughters and grandson.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nora B. Fisher, a niece Brenda Haines, and his close and beloved brother-in-law know as Emerson “Junie” Haines.

He leaves to cherish his memories, daughters, Florena Fisher Berry (Norman) of Dover, and Ashley Fisher of Ellendale; one grandson, Norman Berry, Jr. of Dover; one sister Barbara Haines of Summit, NJ and one brother James Fisher, Sr. (Denise) of Greenwood, DE; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lovingly submitted,

The Family
