Evelyn "Louise" (Shane) Cook

Evelyn L. Shane “Louise” Cook age 87 of Camden-Wyoming was born in Leipsic, DE on April 29, 1935, to the late William and Evelyn Shane Wheeler.

Louise, a graduate of Smyrna High School in 1953, attended Beebe Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked several years at Kent General Hospital in the operating room.  She left her nursing career to work with her brother at Shane Quality Press assisting with the printing business.

Louise enjoyed dancing in her younger years and then picked up knitting and crocheting which have won her many blue ribbons.  She loved puzzles and crafts of all sorts.  She visited her mother daily and missed her so after her passing.  

She married her high school sweetheart, William J. Cook on July 6, 1957.  They were married for over 60 years.  They lived in Germany during Cookie’s time in the Army.  Together they enjoyed travelling, visiting friends, and following the NASCAR circuit.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Betty Walls, her brother, William “Bill” Shane, a great granddaughter, Lena McClucus Cook, and her loving husband, William John Cook “Cookie.”

She is survived by her son, Randall J. Cook (Tandi), two brothers, Cliff Shane and Franklin Shane, a sister-in-law, Doris Shane, two grandchildren, Brandy Haxton and Andrew Cook, a great-granddaughter, Lily Marie Cook, loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Memorial Service Friday, January 27, 2023, 11 am at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, DE, where friends may call 1 hour prior.  Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna, DE.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Marydel Fire Company.
