MAGNOLIA – It is with great sadness that the family of Ethyl Louise Akmentins announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, September 8, 2022 while at the home of her daughter and son in law, Rachel and John Springer Sr. of Felton.
She retired after many years as a Cook from Caesar Rodney School District. She also assisted her husband clerically with their business, Dover Siding Company. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, card playing, reading, watching murder mysteries and was an active member of the Camden Wyoming Moose where she was once Senior Region. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Ethyl was born on August 29, 1946 in Wyoming, Delaware to the late Catherine Walls and Nolan Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Charles Akmentins. She was also preceded in death by Aunt, Ada Walls; siblings, Blanche Wilson, Margaret Sears, Dorothy Cook, Lorraine Collingwood, William Cooper and Floyd Melvin. She is survived by her daughters, Rachel (John Sr.) Springer, Sandra (Roger) Satterfield and Karla (Garry Birney) Akmentins; grandchildren, John Thomas Springer Jr., Tabatha Springer, Jordan Springer, Lanie Satterfield, Ryan Akmentins and Gracie Satterfield and great grandchild, Kaiden Kerr. In addition, she is also survived by her siblings, Harriett Paglusch, Sandy Tucker and Raymond Melvin along with numerous nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.
A grave side service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 1 pm. at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 35 Rising Sun Road, Camden, Delaware. Online condolences may be made at www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
